William "Chi Chi" Henry Socia was born in Grosse Pointe Farms on Queen Victoria's Birthday, May 24, in the year Lindberg flew solo across the Atlantic, 1927. He grew up in Mt. Clemens along with his three sisters and parents, Henry Joseph and Frances (Hillendorf) Socia.
